What is a clogged hair follicle? The hair on your scalp is for protection, but many things can actually settle into the hair follicle and clog it up. There are sebaceous glands just under the epidermis layer and their purpose is to secrete oils for hair luster and shine. Those little glands can actually over stimulate and produce more oils than needed, which leads to a clogged hair follicle. Along with toxins, pollutants, and not shampooing enough, this can lead to the opening becoming unable to allow for proper absorption. Clients who come into our clinic ask how often they should be shampooing.
